Unboxing the Unknown (and Building Drop 001 in Real Time)
Drop Report / Behind the Scenes
The prototype hoodie for Founder Drop 001 just arrived.
It’s still in the box. Haven’t opened it yet.
Not because I’m not excited—but because I already know:
it’s probably not right.
Not yet.
This is what early looks like.
The stitching might be off. The material might feel wrong.
It might not sit right on the shoulders, or the pocket might curve weird.
But that’s what this stage is for.
This isn’t some post-launch recap
.
This is me building in real time—mid-drop, mid-mistake, mid-hope.
What is Drop 001, anyway?
If you’re just joining:
Founder Drop 001 is our first product release through Business Casual.
It’s more than a hoodie. It’s a funding mechanism.
100% of profits will support the creation of a licensed cannabis research and storage facility between Edinburgh and Glasgow.
This means real permits. Real SOPs. Real infrastructure.
We're talking about the kind of facility that can legally store and support cannabis for medical trials, NHS collaborations, and future psychedelic and AI-integrated research.
Every product in this Drop is designed to serve that goal.
What we’re working through right now
A few decisions are on my desk:
📦 Unboxing the prototype hoodie
I’ll film the first one even if it’s bad—because learning in public matters.🧵 Custom embroidery placement
Thinking about a discreet signature—cuff stitch? Hidden tag? Inside hem?💨 Product add-ons
I'd love to include something like a Houseplant rolling tray (yes, Seth Rogen’s brand) in the full supporter bundle. High quality, high vibe. But pricing and logistics are tight.🏢 Warehouse sourcing
Actively scouting locations between Edinburgh and Glasgow for the R&D and controlled storage site. Pricing, zoning, and compliance are real puzzles right now.
Here’s what I’d love to know from you:
If you were supporting this from the start:
What would you want in your early Founder Drop pack?
Is a rolling tray meaningful or gimmicky?
Where would you want to see subtle embroidery or storytelling woven into the product?
Leave a comment. Or just reply with a sentence.
This isn’t just about good taste—it’s about building with the people who get it.
“What should we include in Drop 001?”
If you’re watching this unfold
Thanks for being here while it’s still messy.
This is the part you never see—the first hoodie that isn’t quite right. The license process that hasn’t started. The budget that doesn’t balance yet.
But this is how it starts.
And if you're still reading—
you’re already part of the build.
