Welcome to Business Casual, a publication and brand operated by Akasha Private Advisory Ltd. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our content, digital communications, apparel purchases, and subscription services offered through businesscasual.substack.com and any affiliated sites.

By accessing or subscribing to Business Casual, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Who We Are

Business Casual is a lifestyle and editorial project that funds scientific and cultural infrastructure through limited edition apparel and subscriber-supported media. We operate on Substack and other platforms as a values-driven initiative.

2. Subscriptions & Billing

• Free Subscription: Free subscribers receive public posts and limited updates.

• Paid Subscription: Paid subscribers receive full access to exclusive content, behind-the-scenes updates, early access to Founder Drops, and project briefings.

• Founding Members: Founding supporters receive additional perks as described at the time of their contribution.

All subscriptions are managed by Substack, which handles billing, cancellations, and renewals. Please refer to Substack’s own Terms for platform-level policies.

3. Refunds

Subscriptions and apparel sales are generally non-refundable. However, if you believe there’s been an error, contact us at [your support email] and we’ll do our best to make it right.

4. Use of Content

All written, visual, and branded materials—unless otherwise credited—are owned by Business Casual. You may not copy, distribute, or reproduce any content without express written permission, except as allowed under “fair use.”

You may share public posts or referral links using the tools provided.

5. Referral Program Terms

Referral rewards (free months of subscription) are offered as a goodwill gesture and may be modified or discontinued at any time. We reserve the right to deny rewards in the case of suspected abuse or bot-driven traffic.

6. Community Conduct

Business Casual maintains a respectful, reflective, and intellectually grounded community. We reserve the right to remove comments or block users who post hateful, exploitative, or disruptive content.

7. Product Disclaimers

Business Casual apparel and physical products are not medical devices or claims to health benefits. Any research described in relation to a Founder Drop is informational and not prescriptive. Always consult your own medical provider when making health-related decisions.

8. Your Data

We respect your privacy. We collect only the data necessary to communicate with subscribers, fulfill orders, and analyze performance. For details, see our Privacy Policy (or contact us for more information).

9. Liability Limitations

We make no guarantees about the uninterrupted availability of content or products. Business Casual is not liable for damages arising from delays, technical errors, or third-party service outages (e.g., Substack, Shopify, Inkthreadable).

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland, United Kingdom. Any disputes arising from these Terms will be resolved under the jurisdiction of Scottish courts.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. Subscribers will be notified of any major changes. Continued use after changes implies agreement to the updated Terms.
